Presenters:

Lucy Prashker, Esq.

Lucy is the managing partner of Cain Hibbard & Myers and chair of its intellectual property and internet law, and health law departments.  She represents businesses and individuals on a wide variety of business and intellectual property issues.  Lucy is also a litigator, handling complex commercial cases in both state and federal courts.  In the intellectual property field, Lucy’s clients include artists and writers, manufacturers and service providers, emerging technology companies, non-profit organizations, and health care providers.

Lucy is very active in the Southern Berkshire community.  She served for over 20 years as town counsel to the Town of Alford, where she lives with her husband and daughter.  Lucy is past President and Chairperson of the board of directors of the Literacy Network of South Berkshire, where she continues to serve as a board member.  She is also a member of the Education Committee of the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, and she serves as the business leader chair to Berkshire United Way’s early childhood literacy initiative in South County known as Chapter One.  Frequently recognized for her commitment to community service, in 2015, Lucy was the 51st woman awarded the Woman of Achievement award by the Western Division of the Massachusetts Business and Professional Women’s association.

 Janice Ward, Esq. of Berkshire Bank

Janice is SVP, Wealth Advisor & Senior Fiduciary Officer at Berkshire Bank Wealth Management. An attorney licensed in both Massachusetts and New York, Jan works primarily with Trust and Estate clients, assists with fiduciary activities, and focuses on financial planning. She has over 15 years’ experience with Trust and Estate planning and administration, with the last 10 years focused on wealth management.

Edward Kitson of Aves Appraisal, Valuation & Estate Services

Edward has extensive experience with general residential contents, both as an appraiser and as a former seller. He has an abiding interest and expertise in 20th Century Art Pottery, Modern Glass, and Mid-Century Modern Furniture and Decor. He has had experience with museum quality collections of Silver, Antique Firearms, Telescopes and Meteorites.

Jeffrey Scrimo, Esq. of Lynch Scrimo Attorneys

Since co-founding Lynch Scrimo, Attorney Jeff Scrimo has focused his practice entirely on trial work.  Attorney Scrimo represents clients in civil rights actions, motorcycle and car accident case, as well as in criminal defense and self-defense matters. A large portion of Attorney Scrimo’s trial practice also includes business disputes and employment discrimination cases in state and federal courts.

Attorney Scrimo graduated cum laude from the University Of Maine School Of Law and received his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from the University of Maine at Orono. Following graduating law school in the top percentages of his class, Attorney Scrimo served as the Judicial Law Clerk to the twenty-seven judges of Region VII (western Massachusetts) of the Massachusetts District Court, as well as the Western Division of the Massachusetts Appellate Division. A member of the bar of Massachusetts since 2001, Attorney Scrimo subsequently worked in Boston before returning to Pittsfield to work as an Associate at a Pittsfield law firm where he worked primarily handling personal injury cases, criminal defense and business litigation until co-founding Lynch Scrimo. 

Attorney Scrimo is active locally and nationally as a Sig Sauer Academy Certified Pistol Instructor; a certified NRA Instructor in Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Home Firearm Safety; a certified NRA Chief Range Safety Officer; the Team Captain Instructor in the Massachusetts Hunter’s Education Program at Lee Sportsmen's Association, and an avid sportsman.
