Jeff has been practicing public accounting for over 15 years. He began his career in Boston followed by a ten year period in Denver, CO where he was a partner in a large, multinational, public accounting practice. In the summer of 2019, he returned home to the Berkshires, as a partner at Smith, Watson & Company, LLP, to serve both his legacy clients in addition to clients local to the community. Nearly his entire career, Jeff has provided counsel on complex tax strategy in the areas of individual income tax compliance and planning in addition to wealth transfer planning in the areas of gift, estate, and philanthropic structuring.

The last year has brought significant change, for all of us, in so many aspects of our lives. For tax professionals and their clients, massive change resulting from government shaped stimulus has brought opportunity which, with a bit of luck and perseverance, will be a part of what is needed for financial survival through an otherwise turbulent time. Further, with a change in administration, President-Elect Biden’s tax proposal becomes more of a potential reality.
